Win a Signed Copy of ZEITOUN by Dave Eggers

Dave Eggers has held a special place in my heart ever since A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius brought my future best friend and me together at a pre-college mixer ten years ago, and I’ve had a copy of Zeitoun on my TBR pile for longer than I’d like to admit.  Thanks to the good folks at Abe Books, I have a signed copy of this widely praised book to giveaway.

And now for today’s embarrassing confession: before I ever saw the cover or knew that Zeitoun is about a Syrian-American man caught between the war on terror and post-Katrina New Orleans (read the full description here), I thought, based on the how the word sounds, that Zeitoun a work of science fiction/speculative fiction. I mean, Zeitoun. It sounds futuristic, right?

To enter this giveaway, create an alternate definition of the word “zeitoun” or write a description of what your version of a book called Zeitoun would be about, and leave it in the comments.

The giveaway will be open until midnight EST next Thursday, December 16th. The winner (chosen by me) will receive a signed copy of Zeitoun, and a runner-up will receive 50% off a purchase (up to $30 savings) from Abe Books.

Nothing makes a great holiday gift (for yourself or someone else) quite like a signed edition of a great book, so get those entries going.

Special thanks to Abe Books for sponsoring this contest.
