Drop It Like It’s Haute!

Or, in which I write a weekly feature for a fun new book site.
It’s no secret that I love pop culture almost as much as I love books. Some people might be ashamed to admit they’re as fluent in Jersey Shore as they are in John Irving, but me? I believe in being well-rounded. And that’s why, when the folks behind Book Riot—a new collaborative book site with news, reviews, op-eds, and fun features—came knocking, I couldn’t resist.
My initial contribution to Book Riot is a weekly feature called Drop It Likes It’s Haute, in which I celebrate that unholiest of marriages between literature and pop culture. I’m kicking it off with a four-installment series that applies Jersey Shore lingo to books, and let me tell you, it was the most fun I’ve had writing in a while. Come on. You know you want to know who the O.G. of literature is.
I hope you’ll take a minute to pop over and check out Book Riot. Today is its first day out in the world, and I’m excited about what it will become.
P.S. Posting will be light here this week, as I’m taking some time away to be with my sister and her husband while they settle into life as new parents!
