How do I love this book? Let me count the ways.

I love it for its unpretentious erudition.

I love it for its remarkable lack of melodrama.

I love it for its understated French sensibility and its quiet wisdom.

I love it for its real, flawed, genuinely interesting characters.

I love author Hervé Le Tellier for examining the complexity of sex and relationships without judging his characters for their actions.

I love it for sentences like “Desire will not allow for simple explanations.”

I love it for presenting the beautiful messy-ness of love in many of its forms.

I love it for not giving in to the simplicity of a happily-ever-after ending.

I love it for amusing me, for making me think, for providing a window into other lives that helped me see my own more clearly, and for being the perfect companion on a quiet afternoon.

Enough About Love is delightful. And you should read it.
