Book Lady Favorites, Now Out in Paperback!
2010 at 5am Posted by Rebecca Joines Schinsky
I’m playing with format a bit today…let me know what you think?
One of the things I hear most often from readers is that they wish I reviewed more books that are available in paperback. I tend to read from galleys and ARCs and to review new releases that are usually just coming out in hardback, but many readers find hardback books cost prohibitive, or they can’t get them from the library as easily, or they prefer the convenience of paperbacks. And so on.
So, here are a few books I loved that are now out in paperback.
For more info and links to my reviews:American Rust by Philipp Meyer
Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese
Hold Love Strong by Matthew Aaron Goodman
Hurry Down Sunshine by Michael Greenberg
In the Sanctuary of Outcasts by Neil White
Manhood for Amateurs by Michael Chabon
A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick
That Old Cape Magic by Richard Russo
You can buy one (or all) of these from the handy list I made on IndieBound, or find an indie bookstore near you.

I liked American Rust; LOVED Cutting for Stone and That Old Cape magic!
diane´s last [type] ..Wordless Wednesday
So many of these have been on my to-read list for a while, and this post has inspired me to go place holds at my library immediately, especially for The Reliable Wife.
Also, I loved this format – fun and something different.
Thanks for the recs!
Meg´s last [type] ..Serendipity- Using “Love In The Time Of Cholera” To Test Fate
I LOVE this format…visual, nice and quick and to the point! My book club prefers books that don’t have 300 people waiting in line at the library and cost a million dollars at Borders, so this is very helpful!!!
Sandy´s last [type] ..Monday Movie Meme – Prison Break
Let’s not forget WAITING FOR COLUMBUS (by Thomas Trofimuk!)

Yes! I thought the paperback wasn’t coming out until September/October, or I would have included it.
I like the format! It even shows up in the reader, which is good. It is too wide for the space available on your blog, though, on my screen.
Jen – Devourer of Books´s last [type] ..American Music by Jane Mendelsohn – Book Review
Yeah, one size down was too small, and this size is just a bit too big…but I decided it was worth the overlap for books to be more viewable.
I liked American Rust too…. thanks for the reminder on that one.
