The Hub invited people over without telling me and I was in my JAMMIES when they got there. Not good. Really, not good. I mean my jammies are cute and all but there's nothing like hearing a doorbell and then going "WTF?" So the friends part that I mentioned above, highly overrated. Just give me the food. I was in my 20s when I first learned the rules of the game, and maybe it was because I didn't grow up with the game, but the rules made me laugh. :) The Super Bowl party food sounds lovely, though. I'll be chowing down on hot sausage sandwiches, Doritos, and chocolate cake tonight (thank you Super Bowl!). I wish more major sporting events inspired such eating (World Series party, anyone? Olympic opening ceremony shindig? Um, nope, they don't work so well.) I'm crossing my fingers that I can get the time off work (and/or have the guts to call in sick. Ahem...did I say that out loud?) and work out the logistics necessary to get myself to BEA/Book Blogger Con.
