2009 Reading Challenge Wrap-Up

I’m about a week late in doing this, but here’s the rundown of reading challenges I completed (or just missed by a hair) in 2009.

The Book Awards Reading Challenge ran from August 1, 2008 through June 1, 2009.

Here’s my reading list for the challenge, with completed titles linked to their reviews.

1. The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood

2. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon

3. The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

4. Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri

5. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie

6. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

7. The Senator’s Wife by Sue Miller

8. The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz

9. The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro

10. A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier by Ishmael Beah

I also took part in the 2009 Pub Challenge, for which I set out to read at least 9 new books published in 2009. I read WAY more than that, so here are the first 9.

Finally, I participated in the 2009 100+ Challenge for which I set out to read (and review) at least 100 books in 2009. Check out my original post for the full list of books I read in 2009. I managed to reach 99…and missing it by one made me die a little on the inside.

    Thanks! Just realized I forgot to include the LOST books challenge….I signed up in 2009 but won’t do any of the reading until this year.

    Oh my, 1 book short of a 100? That would kill me, too. But 99 books is nothing to sneeze at – and has a nice ring to it besides.
