Read-A-Thon Update #3 (9 hours in)
2009 at 5pm Posted by Rebecca Joines Schinsky
Current selection: Bad Mother by Ayelet Waldman (I HAD to move on to something smart and stimulating after 2 hours with #IHeartTheSpark)
Time spent reading: 8 hours (I’m not doing mini-challenges or visiting other blogs, and I’m only tweeting/checking in every 3 hours)
Page count so far:420
Books Finished: NONE. STILL. But I’m close to finishing Bad Mother.
How’s it hanging? I got really tired toward the end of hour 7, so I took a shower instead of a nap, and I think I’m doing OK. But hubby has gone to an event a few friends are throwing, and the quiet house is making it a little difficult. It would be a bad idea to go read in bed now, right?
Etcetera: Can I have coffee for dinner? And would my husband be willing to waver in his support of my ‘thonning if I started reading in the manner of the woman in the read-a-thon button pictured above? So far, he has refused to serve as a distraction (even when I wanted him to because I needed a break from The Last Song). Can’t figure out if he really is just that supportive or if it’s his way of adding just a bit to my suffering.

Showers always refresh me! Keep reading
Fantastic! Love the blog, I’m following you on twitter now. Enjoy the read-a-thon!
Although I know you didn’t enjoy reading it, I very much enjoyed seeing your tweets, #IHearttheSpark. Which book turned you against him?
Good luck finishing Bad Mother! =)
Coffee for dinner is allowed. Reading in bed is not…it’s too early.
I checked with the readathon police.
Coffee, okay. Maybe if you had a stack of bodice rippers and made goo-goo eyes at hubby’s be more supportive. I know my husband loves those books. Well, he enjoys the fringe benefits.
Keep reading and smiling. You’re doing great.
I’ve been so busy visiting readers that I have not checked in at Twitter. Hope your reading is going well.
I went the way of the shower as well! Happy Reading!
Coffee for dinner is allowed as long as you don’t need to be up early tomorrow morning.
Good luck with the rest of the read-a-thon!
I don’t twitter, so hope you do a wrap-up post with the Sparks book when (and if you manage to) finish it!
Looks like you are making good progress, though, and enjoy the rest of the readathon!
