So far this week, I’ve talked about some of my favorite blogs and shared an interview with Michelle of GalleySmith, and it’s been fun, but it’s also left me feeling all BUT WHAT ABOUT ME?

Luckily, BBAW has this fun reading meme for the day. And it’s all about brevity (which we all know I don’t do very often).  I’m going to try my best to answer each of these in just a few words. Feel free to play along!

Do you snack while you read? If so, favorite reading snack? Cheez-Its. I love me some Cheez-Its. But I’m more of a drink-while-reading gal.

Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you? Notes, underlining, diagrams of complex character relationships…you name it, I’ve written it in a book.

How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ears? Laying the book flat open? Bookmarks. Especially thanks to Jennifer’s Bookmark-It club.

Fiction, Non-fiction, or both? Both. We’re all about well-roundedness here at The Book Lady’s Blog.

Hard copy or audiobooks? Hard copy, unless I’m on a long roadtrip.

Are you a person who tends to read to the end of chapters, or are you able to put a book down at any point? Depends on how long the chapters are and how sleepy I am.

If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop to look it up right away? Nope. In fact, I hardly ever look up new words. I usually figure them out from context and go to the dictionary as a last resort.

What are you currently reading? Waiting for Columbus by Thomas Trofimuk

What is the last book you bought? Looking for Salvation at the Dairy Queen…my book club’s current selection.

Are you the type of person that only reads one book at a time or can you read more than one at a time? I’m usually a book monogamist, but I can read two at a time if they are very different.

Do you have a favorite time of day and/or place to read? Whenever and wherever. But I do love my favorite corner of the couch, with a hound dog curled up beside me.

Do you prefer series books or stand alone books? Usually stand-alone.

Is there a specific book or author that you find yourself recommending over and over? For recommendability, you can’t beat The Help…but I think the second part of this year is going to be all about Her Fearful Symmetry. For backlist titles, The Handmaid’s Tale is one of my favorite go-tos.

How do you organize your books? (By genre, title, author’s last name, etc.?) You’re supposed to have a system? I put all books by same author together, but after that, it’s all based on where they’ll fit.  At the rate I’m going now, I’ll have to start using books as furniture pretty soon.
