Some random, fun things I know that I want you to know, too…

It’s been a crazy week with work and BBAW panel stuff, and I haven’t gotten to be around here as much I wanted to, so I thought I’d pop in this morning to share a few fun things to get your long weekend (if you’re celebrating Labor Day in the U.S.) off to a good start.

Did you know that there’s a Facebook page for Her Fearful Symmetry?  I doubt that Ms. Niffenegger is sitting around thinking up witty status updates or playing Farmville (the allure of which eludes me, by the way), but she has contributed 2 wonderful videos so far, one discussing the sources of inspiration for Her Fearful Symmetry and one discussing the role of OCD and Martin’s character in the book. They’re short (less than 5 minutes each) and interesting, and they made me want to pick up the ARC and read it all over again.

Plus, a Facebook page is a great place to gush if you haven’t gotten your fill at my spoilerific gush fest, where there are some very interesting comments about the ending of the book. This is a book that begs for discussion among booklovers, so head on over and join the party.

And did you know that Craig Ferguson, he of late-night television fame, published a novel in 2007?  One of my coworkers is completely obsessed and swears that Between the Bridge and the River is a fantastic read. During a book discussion in which I had to persuade her to read The Time Traveler’s Wife (seriously, people, heavy persuasion was involved….but she LOVED it, so it was totally worth it), I also had to agree to read the Craig Ferguson book in exchange. That’s coming next week.

For now, please enjoy this clip from Craig’s (or Craigy Waigy, as my coworker S calls him) series of skits called The J.K. Rowling Show. In this one, J.K. Rowling interviews Stephenie Meyer, played by Jeffrey Tambor.  Priceless.

And have you discovered People of Wal-Mart yet? AMAZING.

What random fun things do you want to share this week?
