What's Next? (A Quirky Giveaway)
2009 at 9am Posted by Rebecca Joines Schinsky
When Quirk Publishing’s highly anticipated Pride and Prejudice and Zombies came out in the spring, the booksellers at my store couldn’t stop talking about what might come next. By now, you’ve probably heard that it’s this:

We were banking on Sense and Sensibility, but the smart money, at least from where we’re standing, was on Sasquatch as the guest star. Makes a lot more sense for the story and its setting than sea monsters, which, by the way, look an awful lot like Davy Jones. Wonder what Johnny Depp has to say about that.
We’ve had so much fun imagining potential future mash-ups that I thought I’d invite you to play along. So, if you’d like to win a copy of this book (I’ll pre-order it to be shipped to you upon its release in September), leave a comment here with your suggestion for the next quirky reimagining.
Tweet or blog about the giveaway (and leave another comment linking to it here) for an additional entry. The winner will be chosen at random.
Comments will be open until 11:59pm Eastern time next Friday, July 24th. US and Canada residents only, please.
My guess? Wuthering Heights and Werewolves.

My bet is Northanger Dojo. I can also foresee a great movie version.

Mansfield Park and Mummies sounds fun, and while it’s not alliterative, I think a mashup of Persuasion with Vikings sounds fun, too.

What about Werewolves in Northanger Abbey?
Emma and Mr.Grim Reaper, he has been around her so much she doesn’t know how much she really loves him!
Emma and Frankenstein
This could be fun to see what they develop next!
I cannot wait to read S&S&SeaMonsters! It was really fun that we had to wait patiently to hear the new title – I love the surprise of it.
Here’s a few I’d like to see done:
Wuthering Bites (Heathcliff as a broody vamp would rock!)
Moby Dick vs Cthulhu (ulitimate high seas battle)
Little Women & The Vampires They Love
Lady Susan the Succubus
Just like the word..succubus..
How about, Mansfield Park & Mummies! (And, after I thought of it, I looked through the comments to see if someone had already come up with, and alas! Amanda and I think alike!)
How about slumming it with some Ayn Rand?
“We the Living (Dead)”
A Steinbeck adaptation?
“Revenge of the 50ft Grapes of Wrath”
Or to milk Jane Austen some more . . .
“The Haunting at Northanger Abbey”
These are too fun.
Northanger Abbey and the Nasty Newts?
Emma and Earwigs?
I vote for Jane Eyre and Vampires…
So many fun possibilities
Hmm…I’m not sure what would come next. I guess if we are sticking with Jane Austen…
Emma and the Purple People Eater. LOL
-Lauren
“Love and friendship and the Republic”… Jane Austen and Plato together as one.

I’d like to see “Persuasion and the Purple People-Eater.”
Oh this is too funny. Just reading people’s comments
Hmmmm…I’d say:
Emma vs Dracula
How about “Moby Dick & Captain America”.
Or perhaps “Emma & Dracula: Spoiled & Thirsty”.
