Oh my goodness I really needed to take the time to do that! I feel bad about unsubscribing but its so necessary sometimes to clean it up sometimes!

This is a timely mini challenge, as I’ve been working on taming my GR for the past week! I set up folders, which has helped so much, and I also went through and unsubscribed to a ton of books I wasn’t reading. I just went through and added bloggers’ names to the feeds, at your suggestion, which I think is a great idea! I’ve never played around with Trends, so I’ve been looking at that as well. And I am HUGELY excited about that plug-in!!

Thanks for the breakdown of tasks, really helpful! I actually prefer to open pages so that I can save them to delicious, but the Greasemonkey tip seems a good one. And I’ve gone through and added actual names to plenty of my subscriptions.

Dang. I can’t get the Firefox / Google Reader bit to work. The Preview button is just not showing up, even though GreaseMonkey and the Script are installed. Lame! However, I learned SO much from this post, and the posts that were linked to it. I downloaded FeedDemon and Evernote and look forward to checking those out.
