May Reading Wrap-Up

May was a really crazy month for The Book Lady. I had a lot of special events at work, which meant many weird shifts and late nights and not nearly as much reading time as I’d hoped. Though I got off to a slow start (and spent a few days reading a book I eventually abandoned), my reading really picked up in the last couple weeks as I started getting into the swing of the summer reading thing. As I look at this month’s reads, I’m really pleased with the overall quality. I thoroughly enjoyed each of these books, and you can’t ask for much more than that.

Here’s what I read:

This month’s fiction picks were all great in their own ways, and it’s difficult to pick a favorite, but I think I’ll have to go with The Senator’s Wife. I just couldn’t put it down. The nonfiction pick is much easier, not because any of them was bad but because Jim Beaver’s Life’s That Way was just so very affecting and unforgettable.

What’s the best book you read in May?
