If you read the headline and thought to yourself “What the hell is a twitty party?” let me fill you in.

Book Expo America (BEA), a huge yearly gathering of authors, publishers, publicists, and members of the book-related media (now including bloggers!), is taking place next week in New York City. There will be parties, book signings, and lots of free stuff….and bunch of lucky bloggers & Twitterers (tweeters? tweeps?)  are going and will get to meet each other and hang out at the BEAtweetup.

For those of us who can’t make the trip, I’m hosting the BEAtwittyparty (think pity party on Twitter) next Friday, May 29th, from 8-10pm Eastern. All are welcome—get the details and sign up here.

A few in-the-works Twitty Party events you can look forward to:

And that’s just a sampling of the Twitty Party fun!

This virtual gathering is all about giving bloggers, authors, publishers, publicists, and other bookish folks the opportunity to connect as we would at BEA. So get your creative juices flowing and come back to let me know what you’ll be doing to celebrate. Games, giveaways, book discussions—it’s all good! And of course, if you just want to hang out and tweet with us, that’s fine too.
