Can't go to BEA? Wanna party anyway?

Are you starting to feel left out of all the BEA fun? Jealous of the folks planning their outfits and meet-ups and juggling trying to figure out how they’re going to ship all those free books home? Be sad no more. You are not alone.
When Chris at book-a-rama mentioned on Twitter this morning that she was feeling left out, I had to agree that I felt the same way. I mean, who doesn’t want a weekend in NYC to hang out with fellow book lovers, meet authors, make connections, and even attend signings by other bloggers? So I suggested to Chris that we should have a pity party, nay, a Twitty party, and the concept of #BEAtwittyparty was born.
I’m just in the initial planning stages, but I’m thinking we should pick a time to designate a few hours for everyone to sign on to Twitter and hang out and pretend we’re drinking fabulous (and expensive) cocktails in New York instead of sitting on the couch in our pajamas. Participating bloggers can run giveaways, book discussions, author interviews, whatever makes you happy. It will be an opportunity to connect with each other and our readers and to drown our sorrows.
First things first, please take this poll to let me know what day would work best for you. After all, the #BEAtwittyparty is all about inclusion.
If we end up with Thursday or Friday, the party will be in the evening; if we go with Saturday, it will be somewhere in the mid-day to mid-evening range.

I would love to have afternoon into evening on Saturday! For me that would be late evening. I think Thurs/Fri would be after I was asleep.

I saw Chris mentioning that this morning and I was thinking about this. Its nice to see someone getting the ball rolling. I am available all that weekend to take part in this.

This is so great! Do it Friday!!! We are going to have a twitter feed at the BEAtweetup so everyone there will be able to see your tweets if you do it Friday 8 – 10 PM EST!!! (just a suggestion…;))
What a great idea-I’d love it!
Am new to Twitter and still twitterblinging around, bumping into things and missing stuff because I don’t know how to participate. How will the Twitter party work? How do we, um, get there? Will need very specific instructions because I’m a card-carrying twitterpeasant.
Just a little note: I see you’re reading “The Little Book”. Well, it’s on Storycasting – maybe you have cast ideas?
