I was just a lowly worker, but I still got asked bizarre questions. My all time favorite. A woman came up and asked if we had a book "ON" David Copperfield. Since she said "On" I figured she meant the magician. No she wanted the other one. OK, the book by Charles Dickens. Her reply "Yes, but I need a biography on him". I nicely explained David Copperfield is a fictional character, and there wouldn't be any biographies about him. She thought about this for a minute and said (I kid you not) "Oh, I thought he was a real person, you know like "Tom Sawyer". I was proud of myself for not bursting in to laughter until she left.... I work for a university and we get misdirected calls from students all the time and if they even hem and haw for a second, their call is suddenly disconnected. Poof!
