Okay, I’m about 24 hours late for this, and I spent a grand total of 17 minutes at the computer this weekend, but it was totally worth it. We had absolutely beautiful weather, and it would have been a shame to miss it. I spent most of Saturday hanging out on the patio with A Reliable Wife while hubby did lots and lots of yard work, and Millie got into the swing of her warm weather routine, which consists mostly of sleeping in the sun until she gets warm, then sleeping in the dirt until she gets cool. Lather, rinse, repeat. It’s funny and completely adorable.
I was all geared up to spend yesterday the exact same way, but my 9-year-old niece called around lunch time to invite me out for a pedicure, and I just couldn’t say no. So now I’m rocking ubercute purple toenails, and I’m all ready for spring and open-toed shoes. Post-pedicure, I baked cupcakes, snuck in a few more chapters of A Reliable Wife, and headed off to a cookout at the aforementioned niece’s house (with her parents and 2 siblings), where we decorated the cupcakes and soaked up the last few hours of weekend.
Needless to say, I have tooooons of blog reading to catch up on and a review to write of A Long Way Gone, which I finished Saturday morning. Maybe this afternoon/evening. This spring fever thing is really zapping my desire to be productive.
Highlights of last week:
- Adventures in Bookselling v. 13
- Review of Supergirls Speak Out by Liz Funk
- March reading wrap-up
- A fun (if a tad long) bookish meme
Also, congrats to these three fabulous ladies, who each won a copy of The Purity Myth by Jessica Valenti:
Nicole at Bibliographing
Heather at Book Addiction
I hope you’ll enjoy it, and I can’t wait to hear about your reactions!
So, what were you up to this weekend? Were you lazy and sundrunk like me, or did you get something done?

I can’t wait to see you reviews of A Long Way Gone and A Reliable Wife. Sounds like a fun weekend.
We spent the weekend in Palm Desert soaking up the sun so I didn’t get anything done. It felt good for once.
Sounds like a fun weekend. I wish I had a niece close by to do fun things with!
I don’t remember the last time I only spent 17 minutes on the computer in a weekend?! It sounds like you had a great time and were able to take advantage of some great activities.
We had a fabulously beautiful weekend here, too, but it was very windy, too windy to stay outside for long. So I peered out at the fabulously beautiful weekend from the confines of my house and browsed blogs.
