100+ Reading Challenge
2008 at 9am Posted by Rebecca Joines Schinsky
I’ve been reading 10-11 books per month since I started blogging back in July, and since I didn’t track my reading before, but I’m pretty sure the rate has stayed relatively constant, I think it’s safe to say I will end 2008 having read more than 100 books. This is definitely the first year that that will have happened, since it is my first full year out of graduate school, when all of my reading has been for pleasure…and what a pleasure it’s been!
So, I figured if I’m going to keep reading 100+ books per year, why not keep track of them and participate in the challenge at J. Kaye’s Book Blog? Here are the rules.
- You can join anytime as long as you don’t start reading your books prior to 2009.
- This challenge is for 2009 only. The last day to have all your books read is December 31, 2009.
- You can join anytime between now and December 31, 2009.
- All books count: children’s, YA, adults, fiction, non-fiction, how-tos, etc.
Click the icon above to join the challenge. I’ll be updating this post each time I finish and review a book, and I’ll probably add a tab for challenges at the top of the site.

I’m doing several challenges that start in 2009 and I think I’ll do this one too. My circumstances allow me to read as much as I want so I average a lot more than 100 in a year. I don’t review most of them because it’s difficult for me sitting at the computer (and I’d rather read instead) but I do rate them and talk about them on my litblog. Entering challenges helps me to keep track of what I’ve read and I don’t crossover from one reading challenge list to another which adds to the challenge. I also love comparing lists and I’m a sucker for a great icon. I love this one.
I’m in 14 challenges. Most run all of next year. They’re all listed on my blog’s sidebar if you want to check them out. I think most of the books I’ll read will cover 2 or 3 challenges so it shouldn’t be too bad.
Greetings! Just wanted to drop by and officially welcome you to the challenge. I am so glad you decided to join us!!
