The Sunday Salon
2008 at 1pm Posted by Rebecca Joines Schinsky
I’ve had an interesting week, if a little slow on reading. It started off great, with a new addition to my Adventures in Bookselling series and random musing on public inappropriateness that has the potential to become another series.
I hosted my first blog tour, featuring Lesley Dormen’s The Best Place to Be, complete with a guest post by the author, and I pondered my favorite literary couples for Booking Through Thursdays. Somewhere in there, I finished reading Martha Beck’s Leaving the Saints, but I caught my husband’s cold and lost all motivation to read and write for a few days. I finally posted my review last night.
This morning, I snuggled up with my hubby (who is beginning Under the Black Flag, a history book about pirates and pirate life) and finished Julia Glass’s new novel I See You Everywhere. It was wonderful, and I’ll be writing my review in the next couple days. Now, I’m off to enjoy one of Bob’s famous (at least to me) grilled cheese sandwiches (it’s comfort food perfection, I tell you) and settle in with Meg Cabot’s Queen of Babble, courtesy of a recommendation from Meg.
What are you up to on this glorious fall day?

Oh, I can’t wait to get my hands on the new Julia Glass book. I’ll be looking forward to your review…so glad to hear that you enjoyed it!
It sounds like you are enjoying a wonderful Sunday. I was the first up as usual this morning and not long ago, hubby made his appearance. I am making the blog rounds this morning and hope to settle in with my current book shortly. what could be better than an afternoon of reading? Have a great week!
I can’t wait to see your review of Julia Glass’s new novel!
Today I cooked a huge breakfast for my hubby and I and then we got back into bed and took naps – whoops!
I hope you enjoy “Queen of Babble” — I love Meg Cabot intensely! I’m still reading all of her YA series. I can’t let them go! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday — I’m off to another family birthday party . . . October is the busiest month ever!
Sounds like a wonderful morning. Unfortunately, I am spending most of my day learning about Trust and Estates. It is important, but not nearly as much fun as reading a book for pleasure
I have Three Junes by Julia Glass and haven’t had a chance to read it yet. Sounds like she’s a good writer so I guess I should.

I love grilled cheese sandwiches, too. However, if I want one made well, I have to do it myself. I’m the grilled cheese expert here. I envy you having someone who makes them so well for you.
I’ll be back reading your review on I See You Everywhere.
Today I started early at my favorite coffee shop before the brunch crowd came in and turned the place into a zoo. I’ve been reading an ARC called The Little Giant of Aberdeen County by Tiffany Baker. She is a local author and this is her first novel. It’s about the growing pain of a girl who is all about bumps and bulges. That her sister is a beauty queen makes her life even more miserable.
Shauna, me too. Total grilled cheese envy.
