I enjoy your review. Of course, now reading your review, I agree with it more than I agree with my own. Completely agree with you on the 'cheating' concept. I did find myself at several points in the book thinking that she could have come up with a better story than what actually happened.

Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting. I'll add you to my blogroll!

I'd be interested to know what you think of Michio Kakutani's review—if her assessment is accurate it seems like it would be pretty frustrating for the reader to have the book go downhill toward the end.

I didn't read Prep but I did read The Man of My Dreams and didn't love it but did stay up all night finishing it. The premise of this one didn't appeal to me so much, because while I sort of like Laura I wouldn't really want to end up reading a novel about how awful George is, and I was afraid it might turn out like that.

This book is on my TBR list. I've only read a couple reviews of it, and I liked how honest and balanced yours is. I agree with Devourer of Books in that those steamy scenes will be disturbing if I can't get Dubya and Laura out of my head. Ew.
