Are You Buzzing?
2008 at 6pm Posted by Rebecca Joines Schinsky
Jen at Devourer of Books tagged me for this Book Buzz meme that was started by My Friend Amy.
I am going to list three categories of books. 3 MUST Read Books, 3 Keep Your Eyes on These, and 3 Look For These Soon. Keeping with the theme, I am going to tag at least 3 bloggers. They should put these same lists on their blog but SUBTRACT one book from each list and ADD one of their own. Then they should tag at least 3 more bloggers. It will be fun to see how the lists change as it goes around the blogosphere. Please come back to this post and leave a comment and click here to leave a comment for Amy so she can see how the lists are changing as they go around the blogosphere. Since this is Book Buzz…please keep your lists to titles released in 2007-2009.
Note: I am putting links to the reviews of those I have read so far and a star next to the ones I added to the list.
3 MUST Read Books:
*The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson
The Monsters of Templeton by Lauren Groff
One More Year: Stories by Sana Krasikov
3 Keep Your Eyes on These:
The Memory of Water by Karen White
My Father’s Paradise by Ariel Sabar
*The Lace Reader by Brunonia Barry
3 Look For These Soon:
*A Mercy by Toni Morrison (coming in November)–And no, I haven’t read this yet, but it’s not for lack of begging. Our Random House rep said Ms. Morrison usually writes right up to the deadline, so ARCs are not likely….but man, if I could get my hands on one….
Songs for the Missing by Stewart O’Nan
Aberrations by Penelope Przekop
I will now tag:
Trish at Hey Lady! Whatcha Readin’?
Alisha In the Shadow of Mt. TBR
Joy from Joy’s Blog

I really wanted to bump The Gargoyle up too, but I had more than 2 books I wanted to add to the list!
Your post has just reminded me that I really need to starting reading Toni Morrison’s books. I feel like there’s a gap in my library that she is just waiting to fill.
Meghan: Yes! Go read Toni Morrison right now! My senior year in college, I had the pleasure of taking a capstone seminar focusing on her work, as one of our professors was a Morrison scholar. We read and dissected all of her novels (complete with extensive critical commentary) and it was the single most influential experience of my academic career.
Thanks for tagging/buzzing me! I’ve got my titles to add – now I just need to come up with some tag-ees.
I done’d it! Thanks for tagging me! MWAH!
