Tuesday Thingers: Weekly Memes
2008 at 9am Posted by Rebecca Joines Schinsky
Here’s today’s question from Marie at The Boston Bibliophile: Today’s question is only marginally about LibraryThing but I thought it might be a fun question anyway. It’s more about blogging. Everyone who participates in Tuesday Thingers has a blog- some have a book blog, some have several, some have blogs that are more personal, etc.- and we’ve all chosen to participate in this particular way of networking to build traffic, get to know each other, etc. So my question is: what other weekly memes or round robins do you participate in? Is this the only one? Why Tuesday Thingers and not some other weekly Tuesday meme? Or do you do more than one?The Daily Meme for even more blogging options for different days of the week. I know- like you don’t have enough to do!
Also, if you feel like you don’t have enough memes, you can visit
In addition to Tuesday Thingers, I participate in Booking Through Thursday and the Sunday Salon. I like the variety they provide, and I enjoy the opportunity to think about books, reading, and what it means to be a reader in new ways. I love to write, and since I have zero skill with fiction, these also give me the chance to reflect and write about things that are important to me. Memes are also a great way to meet other bloggers, learn about new things, and keep the content of my blog fresh and current in between book reviews and posts about life in general.
I joined these memes because I saw them on many of the book blogs I read before I began this one, and three seems to be a good number for me. They’re spaced out well so that I don’t feel pressure to write a book review two days in a row (I’m a fast reader, but not usually that fast!), and it’s nice to have them to fall back on when life hasn’t really been exciting enough to blog about. And on those meme days when I do write a review, it gives me two new posts and lots of traffic, and I hope it gives my readers incentive to keep coming back.
Don’t forget to scroll down for my spoiler-filled review of Breaking Dawn, and head back tomorrow for a new book review and giveaway!

I feel the same way about blogging as you in terms of writing. I love to write but my talent in writing fiction is non-existent! So reviews and memes are a good way to work more writing into my life. =)
Ah yes traffic. Memes are really good at that aren’t they?
Yup. Traffic and the chance to meet a lot of other great folks. Memes can be fun!
Lol look at you trying to get us to read your review of Breaking Dawn! I’m staying as spoil free as possible until I can read it. But I’ll def come back to read your thoughts when I finish the book
I like the variety of the memes, too. I’ll have to consider the Twilight series. Everyone’s blogging about these books and I know nothing about them. Add a few more to the TBR pile…
